There
are several basic components of the hip that are dealt with in hip surgery.
The anatomy section of this page will give you some diagarms dealing with the
different components accompanied by a brief synopsis of those parts. The different
diseases that can be a ttributed to the need for total hip surgery affect both
the socket and the femoral head. As there are a variety of different procedures
that can take place depending on injury or disease, be sure to also look at
the treatment section as it spells out some of the more common ones with different
diagrams as well.
