Hybrid
total hip replacement is a total hip replacement practice where the femoral
component (stem) is a cemented variety, while the acetabular component (cup)
is uncemented. A hybrid total hip replacement is best suited for patients who
have good bone mass in the acetabular area, providing a good spot for the acetabular
component (cup) to affix to.
