The term Arthritis stands for inflammation in the joints. There are several types of Inflammatory Arthritis that can affect the hip joint:
Rheumatoid Arthritis- Causes imflammation in the lining of the joints. Rheumatoid Arthritis is an autoimmune disease meaning that the immune system attacks healthy joint tissue for an unknown reason. The most common sign is joint pain. Rheumatoid Arthritis is known to affect both sides of the body at once.
The inflamed cartilidge in the joint affects bones, muscles, and ligaments within the joint to erode over a long period of time.
