Clothing
Please be sure to pack your items to bring with you to the hospital when you are admitted for surgery. It is important to bring some clothing to the hospital. Getting dressed every morning will help in your recovery.
Shoewear
It is important that you bring proper shoewear to the hospital.
You may want to purchase a new pair of shoes so that your walking is not incluenced by how worn out your old shoes are. (Look at the sole of the shoe for wear pattern.)
Things to consider when deciding what shoes to bring:
1. The foot on your operated leg may be swollen after surgery. Please bring a shoe that can accomodate to this increased size. The shoe can be a slip on or a tie shoe
2. Choose a shoe with a low, less than one inch, or flat heel
3. If you buy a new pair of shoes, please have a salesperson measure the width and length of each of your feet while you are standing
4. Do not bring bedroom slippers
5. Do not bring shoes that have an open heel
6. Do not choose a shoe with a soft crepe heel
